Q: Word Document – How does track changes work with version history combines? Will the changes be noted?
A: YES – if you enable track changes in Word you will be able to track everyone’s changes and also have the ability to go back to a previous version through version history
Q: Is there a way to control the AutoSave timing? When I tried it saved almost immediately and I couldn’t undo things quickly without going back to a previous version. Change Auto Save Time?
A: Currently, the only option for AutoSave is On/Off. Here is a Microsoft site that gives more specific detail regarding AutoSave: What is AutoSave? (microsoft.com)
Q: How many folders can be moved at once? \ string length and number of folders?
A: When migrating to OneDrive:
- There is no number of folder restrictions on a move/copy but 30,000 files limit per operation limit.
- A single file or folder name cannot be more than 128 characters in length
- The total file path including full path + file name cannot be more than 400 characters
Q: Timeline move all files (S:\, Desktop, W:\) to OneDrive?
A: No date has been set. Would recommend getting familiar with OneDrive and begin moving data as you become comfortable.
Q: Timeline for stop making changes to Box?
A: No date has been set yet. Box users will be receiving information from campus detailing the planned migration on the plan has been established.
Q: Not sync a specific folder
A: To stop a certain folder from syncing on OneDrive, you may deselect it on the OneDrive settings.
1. Right-click on the OneDrive icon on the system tray (bottom-right part of the screen).
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on the Account tab and click on Choose folders.
4. Uncheck the folder(s)/file(s) that you don’t want to sync on OneDrive, you may expand each folder by clicking the arrow beside it.
Q: Certain programs need data local to work correctly.
A: You have two options:
- Set needed folder/file to “Always keep on this device”
- Choose to not sync specific folders/files
